Where to start with this fragrance? The first spritz is a fresh, cool, delicious morning citrus. It’s like orange juice out on a table in the warm sunshine. Delicious mimosa to drink, orange blossom to savour, and citrus notes to tickle your nose. After the initial citrus, you get a powdery rose, which is very delicate and feminine and combines with subtle hints of jasmine. There’s also a distinct woody note of patchouli in this perfume that you smell from the get-go. It blends superbly with the citrus and rose notes to create a fragrance fit for a duchess. There’s a whiff of the East to this fragrance, and when you wear it you almost feel as if you’ve been whisked away to a royal Persian bazaar. Can be worn at any time of day and any time of year.

Although I blind bought this not realising the fragrance behind it I was instantly reminded of a certain Mademoiselle by a certain famous couture house in France being with C and ending in L. The resemblance is uncanny and although not exactly the same in many ways I prefer it as it’s a bit more subtle. Longevity is good too! Another triumph Eden.

I love this perfume! I’ve bought it since I went vegan 7 years ago. Before that, I wore it’s designer counterpart since it launched in 2001. I have to say this version is way better, kinder to animals and more reasonably priced.
