Carnation with the clove amplified. It’s spicy and sharp and offhandedly frilly. This is a take on the perennial carnation in the Humphrey Borgarts Lapel in Casablanca. Its sharpish insistence on innocence feels almost disingenuous. Vintage black-and-white photos and marcel waves, there’s some grease-pencil and powder as it fades that will take you in a time machine back to the early ’70s. It’s mysterious and for those who love a classic timeless masterpiece.
